FALLING ASLEEP WITHOUT BRUSHING YOUR TEETH

Falling Asleep Without Brushing Your TeethHere’s what happens when you don’t brush your teeth before going to bed, and why it’s far more dangerous than you believe. How awful is it to go to bed without cleaning your teeth? Most people are surprised to learn that going to bed without cleaning your teeth is equivalent to sleeping with excrement in your mouth.

What Happens When You Don’t Brush

How is that possible? Whenever you eat a meal, the bacteria that reside naturally in your mouth feast on the food you consume. After eating, these bacteria excrete waste just like every other living organism. Acidic wastes corrode tooth enamel and lead to cavities and root decay. Without brushing, plaque starts to harden and calcify on your teeth. Once plaque has calcified, it cannot be removed with a toothbrush and floss, and only the hygienist can remove it. The situation worsens. Plaque buildup signals an infection to the gums, so the immune system responds by attacking it. Your body attacks plaque buildup and destroys healthy tissue that holds your teeth in place, causing the gums to pull away from the teeth. Eventually, you will develop this habit if you don’t brush and floss before bed.

Too Exhausted To Brush Your Teeth?

Keep a toothbrush in the bedside drawer. You don’t require toothpaste. While you’re laying in bed, give yourself a brief, gently dry brush. Despite the lack of toothpaste, you may use a snap-on sanitizer to keep it clean and feeling fresh. Keep a flossing stick in your bedside drawer. You may floss with one hand while laying in bed as well. Simply take the stick and bite down on the floss. Brush your teeth with your tongue. Do you feel that? This is known as plaque, and it acts as a thick, low-cost home for bacteria. The longer plaque remains on your teeth, the more germs grow and take hold in your mouth. To establish the habit, run your tongue over your teeth. After a time, you’ll begin to crave the sensation of slick, clean teeth before falling asleep in bed.
